Nathan | Niagara Child Photographer

This post never made it out of my drafts. And since I’m catching up on all my blog posts, I thought I would share this one as well!
Brothers, always there to bonk ya on the head with a balloon. It’s safe to say Nathan hated his cake, as delicious as it looked! Maple was more than happy to step up and help her brother.

Naomi | Niagara Child Photographer

This little cutie turned two this week. And when I went to look for the blog post to share, I realized that I never posted one – WHICH IS CRAZY! – because I loved every single one of the images from this session. So, I decided it’s never too late to share my favourite images from Naomi’s first birthday.

Mama had some amazing ideas for Naomi’s session. Together, we put our heads together and made it a reality!  When mom and dad are this gorgeous, it’s no wonder Naomi is so beautiful! I loved this simple cake setup. Just enough of everything to not take away from the girl of the hour! I usually find that extravagant set-ups end up taking the attention away from the child that’s in the portrait.  These two are way too much fun! I’ve photographed their maternity portraits, Naomi’s newborn portraits and Naomi’s first birthday and Monica and Holden never disappoint! I’m also pretty sure that I’ve been handed a bevy every time I’ve walked into their home. #BonusPoints After getting messy with the cake, a little clean up was required. (Mostly for mom and dad, since Naomi was probably the cleanest baby post-cake smash that I have ever seen.)

Everly | Niagara Child Photographer

Everly is an expressive little girl. From the minute she was born she has been her own person. Looking at her you can’t help but think she has such an old soul. Throughout her first year I captured her newborn, 4 month, 9 month and 1 year portraits! Everly’s mom and I came up with a theme for her portraits that we carried throughout the year. They are perfect for her personality!  When Tara suggested a teepee, my first thought “great, now I have to figure out how to make a teepee” but I think it turned out pretty good! I came across the doily hoops in my closet the day before the session and knew I had to include them!
Everly is so sweet with her littler hands. She really knows how to work them! “In between” portraits. I love Everly’s hands in the right image, reminds me of the emoji – cracks me up every time I see it.  4 Months and One Year, quite the difference. I can never believe how fast time goes by.
Sometimes after a successful portraits session you need to throw on a little “Burning Man” by Dierks and have a dance party! Although I LOVE Dierks – this was Everly’s favourite and had nothing to do with me. Can’t say I minded!

Cole | Niagara Child Photographer

Cole is ONE! Wow. What a year it has been. It seems like yesterday that I was photographing Cole’s newborn portraits – and here we are at his cake smash birthday session!  Doesn’t he have the best blue eyes?! Gorgeous!  After the cake smash we called in the clean up crew. Maple is the best big sister ever!

Everly | Niagara Child Photographer

A late night blog post because I really can not help myself! Everly is 9 months old – and she gets cuter by the day! Her mama got lost trying to find this field – too many times to count – she called me, Everly SCREAMING in the backseat and I thought to myself “oh boy, here we go”. Eventually I went to find her and she followed me to this field. Everly came out of the van with a smile on her face. The shoot started an hour later than it was supposed to, but that meant that the sun was PERFECT. This session could not have worked out any better! Kudos to Tara for not letter her frustration come through and transfer to Everly.  This girls eyes – just stunning!
I never post straight out of camera images. I always adjust the colour and brightness to suit my personal style, but this image was just way too perfect not to share as is.  After a short little drive we ended up here, fit so perfectly with the theme we have going for her first year sessions.  Her mom made this dress because she couldn’t find what she was picturing in a store. SO PERFECT.  I love Everly’s eye squint, her big sister does the same thing when she is really happy!  Ahhh, one more session to go to complete her first year package. But I’m not sure how I can top these. She was so perfect!

Cole | Niagara Child Photographer

Cole gets more adorable every time that I see him. He was so good for his 9 month portraits! We got so many smiles, and this time – no grandma required!  Those eyes!  I had to post Cole’s adorable little faces. I can’t wait to photograph his birthday portraits in a couple of months!

Everly | Niagara Child Photographer

Everly was in the studio for her 4 month portraits as part of her Baby’s First Year package. We waited a little longer for these ones because this girl is a little cranky.. I mean, colic. I was so nervous about this session, Everly cries, all. the. time. so I was worried that we wouldn’t get any portraits of her smiling, or even just looking at the camera. BUT SHE DID AMAZING! AND I captured her laughing for the first time EVER. So cool!  I am in LOVE with these photographs. So simple.  SO MUCH HAPPINESS IN ONE PHOTOGRAPH!

EVERLY. COME ON. That squinty, scrunchy pure happiness face. SO ADORABLE.  There is just something about her face in this photograph, so much wonder.  Oh, the many faces of Ev!
When I’m culling through photographs from a session for the first time I never know what I’m going to come across in the next photo – closed eyes, funny faces – sometimes I get a good chuckle out of them. But this photograph of Everly had me snorting. She went from happy to angry in about one second.  I wish I could get this photograph at every 3 month session! Sleeping babies are the best! After a brief nap, Everly was ready for round two! These were the only photographs that Mama wanted to do.

Cole | Niagara Child Photographer

Cole was in the studio for his 4 month portraits a few weeks ago as part of his first year package. He was FULL of smiles, especially when Grandma showed up!
He’s got the cutest little smirk!  What a difference a couple of months makes!
See you in July little guy!

Henry | Niagara Child Photographer

I captured Henry’s newborn portraits when we was 11 weeks old. He was in the NICU for the first weeks of his life, but he’s sure made up for it quickly! Now Henry is ONE! And is pretty much the happiest little guy ever. He had so many smiles during his session!   There is something I just LOVE about a serious face and a black and white. Red hair and green eyes, isn’t he perfect?!

When I met him at 11 weeks he had doubled his birth weight! We captured some special portraits to document his time in the NICU. When we photographed Henry’s birthday portraits his mom had something special planned and it turned out perfect!

Cole | Niagara Newborn Photographer

Cole, two days old and perfect!  I’m so ecstatic that Mom and Dad welcomed me into their home on their first full day home from the hospital. They’re such champs and so laid back! And you could definitely tell during his session, he was the best little guy to photograph! Couldn’t help but include this special blanket! And of course Mom and Dad’s original baby, Maple, had to be included as well!
I can’t wait to photograph Cole in this same spot 4 more times over the next year! As part of his first year package I will get to watch him grow and capture his milestones at 3 months, 9 months and One Year.Maple may have stolen the show! This family portrait is the best!
