A late night blog post because I really can not help myself! Everly is 9 months old – and she gets cuter by the day! Her mama got lost trying to find this field – too many times to count – she called me, Everly SCREAMING in the backseat and I thought to myself “oh boy, here we go”. Eventually I went to find her and she followed me to this field. Everly came out of the van with a smile on her face. The shoot started an hour later than it was supposed to, but that meant that the sun was PERFECT. This session could not have worked out any better! Kudos to Tara for not letter her frustration come through and transfer to Everly.
This girls eyes – just stunning!
I never post straight out of camera images. I always adjust the colour and brightness to suit my personal style, but this image was just way too perfect not to share as is.
After a short little drive we ended up here, fit so perfectly with the theme we have going for her first year sessions.
Her mom made this dress because she couldn’t find what she was picturing in a store. SO PERFECT.
I love Everly’s eye squint, her big sister does the same thing when she is really happy!
Ahhh, one more session to go to complete her first year package. But I’m not sure how I can top these. She was so perfect!

The Richard’s | Niagara Family Photographer
Family farm, barn, field, storm clouds, boots and HORSES – this session was a dream!
I’ve known the Richard’s since high school when Shelby and I became friends. This is th second time I’ve photographed them – a gift for Dad! – and it’s always a pleasure. I mean c’mon, look how gorgeous this family is! We just beat the rain by a couple of minutes, it made for the perfect sky and lighting. Everyone wants a beautiful clear blue sky on photo day, but in reality an overcast day is the best kind of day. No squinting, no shadows, perfect!
When Dad mentioned including the Draft Horses I was all for it! Aren’t they beautiful?!??
Emily | Niagara Maternity Photographer
I am over sharing from this maternity session because I am in LOVE with this beautiful family! The weather and the sun was perfect – a little chilly but Emily was a trooper. The sun did an amazing job making these portraits magical.
For real, how cute are these two?! I can’t wait to meet their little one!
The sweetest little family.
Emily has the perfect bump, I can’t get over it. You’d never know she was 33 weeks.
Oh hello sun, you’re perfect.
In a few short weeks Emily and Jay will get to meet their new addition, good luck!
Eve | Niagara Portrait Photographer
Yesterday I spent some time with my friend’s daughter. It was a beautiful fall day so we decided to head out for a bit of fun and capture the colours. My soul is happy!
We also brought along Eve’s dog Kingston. He wasn’t impressed with our shenanigans, but he just matched so perfectly!
This portrait is one of my favourites from the session. Sunset and a gorgeous girl, what more could a photographer ask for?!
Kenzie | Niagara Child Photographer
I wasn’t sure how these portraits were going to go, I was a little bit nervous. Last time I met Kenz she was super shy and wouldn’t talk to me, but after only a few minutes she opened right up and was a perfect model! Smiling on demand, posing perfectly, chatting away with me. Perfection!
I love these two portraits with dad, way too sweet.
Some photographs are just made to be black and white. The tones in these, ahhhhhhh.
Kenz picked me a whole bouquet of wild flowers.
I love how natural this portrait is, so focused on what she’s doing.
I had a lot of fun photographing Kenz, she was so great to work with!
Allie | Niagara Child Photographer
A few months ago Allie’s mom posted this photograph on Instagram and I instantly knew I wanted to recreate it. I loved the carefree vibe I got from the image – running through the grass barefoot. Ahhhh, summer.
After planning and rescheduling for the perfect sunny day, this was the result!
I captured some other portraits of Allie while we were at her Grandmother’s, I love the effect that the bugs have in this image!
Allie’s smile is so contagious, I just love this little girl!
While I enjoy the portraits of Allie in the grass, the following photographs are my favourite from the session. This wild child is always on the move, so when I was looking through the photographs afterwards and found this portrait of Allie sitting (on the door of an old outhouse of all things!) and looking perfectly at the camera I knew that it was “the photograph” from the session.
At their Christmas session I took some great portraits of Ryan, Allie’s brother. They are some of my favourites that I have ever taken and they match perfectly with Allie’s new portraits. I hope mom and dad hang at least one combination of the photographs together!
These kids won the gene pool lottery! Seriously though, look at those faces!!
Eliza | Niagara Child Photographer
A few weeks ago I came up with an idea for this shoot when I was inspired by a huge field of wild flowers. When I went back to look at the location to make sure everything was ready to go, I found that the City of Port Colborne had cut down the field of wild flowers – the worst feeling for a photographer. So after a few days of heartbroken searching, I found this location, not as good as the first but an adequate substitute.
Not wanting to miss the opportunity again, I bought a dress for Eliza, painted her nails, made her hair ‘pretty’ and headed to the spot.
And now – my wild child niece.
I love her eyes in this one!
This Miss is very expressive. She definitely gets that from me.. whoops!
I would give anything for her curls, so beautiful!
I am in LOVE with this photo. So natural! Just admiring the flowers..
This is what happens when the photographer tries to be in a photo – uncooperative kids! This is about the best I can expect from them, but I love them all the same!
Since my niece was born 3 years ago, I have photographed her twice a year. (A little over due on this one..) I love capturing these portraits of her, because along with watching her grow, I’ve also been able to watch my photography grow and develop into my own style. These photos and the ones I took of her last May are definitely my favourites to date!
Brian, Matthias&Eliza | Niagara Family Photographer
I’ve been taking photos of my niece every Spring&Fall since she was born. She is far more willing to be photographed then her brother! Last Spring I took photos of her and my nephew – which are some of my favourite photos to date, I may be biased, but hey! – so this year I thought it was time to update the family photos and include my brother.
Any photographer will tell you, sometimes it’s harder to photograph family then it is to photograph a first time client. But last May was one of those perfect days when the kids behaved and the weather was perfect. This is one of the photos – it was a completely natural shot – Matthias put his arm around his little sister all by himself. ((View more photos here.))
I love watching Matthias&Eliza grow up. Looking back at photos it’s crazy how much kids change in one year! I love them to bits!
Last week we were very lucky and caught one of the last orchards to be in bloom, I looked everywhere and eventually I found one! With a little bribery on my part I got some beautiful photographs of my brother&kids. My nephew is obsessed with sea animals, so after the session we drove to Big Al’s Pet Store in Hamilton to look at some saltwater fish. They have a lot of Nemo’s, Dory’s and Gill’s plus they have a shark – pretty cool! – needless to say, I think it was a pretty fair trade.
I love Eliza in this one – so carefree!
