I captured Henry’s newborn portraits when we was 11 weeks old. He was in the NICU for the first weeks of his life, but he’s sure made up for it quickly! Now Henry is ONE! And is pretty much the happiest little guy ever. He had so many smiles during his session! There is something I just LOVE about a serious face and a black and white. Red hair and green eyes, isn’t he perfect?!
When I met him at 11 weeks he had doubled his birth weight! We captured some special portraits to document his time in the NICU. When we photographed Henry’s birthday portraits his mom had something special planned and it turned out perfect!
Cole, two days old and perfect! I’m so ecstatic that Mom and Dad welcomed me into their home on their first full day home from the hospital. They’re such champs and so laid back! And you could definitely tell during his session, he was the best little guy to photograph! Couldn’t help but include this special blanket! And of course Mom and Dad’s original baby, Maple, had to be included as well!
I can’t wait to photograph Cole in this same spot 4 more times over the next year! As part of his first year package I will get to watch him grow and capture his milestones at 3 months, 9 months and One Year.Maple may have stolen the show! This family portrait is the best!
Lucas is one! This guy had so many smiles for me and kept me on my toes – he’s on the move!! We headed outside to get a couple fall portraits before we let Lucas dive into his cake. The colours were perfect! I love the drool in this photograph, doesn’t that cake look delicious! Lucas wasn’t too sure about his cake. He didn’t like the taste but still kept going back for more. I always love capturing this post cake detail shot. Those toes get me every time.
Gage is a very special Rainbow Baby, hand picked by his sister in heaven. Gage was delivered a couple weeks early, but you’d never be able to tell. Such a beautiful healthy little guy. I loved every second on his session! The belly on him though, so adorable! Mom and Dad are country lovers, I had to add in some fur!
My friend made a tiny human! A couple of years ago I was in their wedding party, now here I am photographing their little guy. Alex is such a sweet boy, I love him to bits already. We had to keep his diaper on for the session, which made for some unique images that are completely out of my comfort zone – and I LOVE THEM. So snuggly all wrapped up. Did this photo make you yawn? The wall in their home matched this set up perfectly. Congrats you two, I couldn’t be happier for you!!
The below image pretty much sums up how Lukas felt about his newborn portraits. He was having NONE of it. But that’s okay because we still got some images that Mom and Dad love and we have 3 more sessions in his first year to make up for it! So snuggly! Newborn piggies! Lukas looks like the Thinker in this image. So cute!
Meet my boyfriend’s nephew, Lucien, the newest member of the family! Little Lucien was so good to me during his newborn session. He slept the entire time – except to feed – but went right back off to sleep. I was able to get so many completely different poses from him – and I even had time to experiment with new poses and angles. Dave and I are a proud Aunt and Uncle! Lucien even let me do these more complicated poses. I’m a happy photographer! Lucien (right) and his big sister (left). You can definitely tell they’re related!
The sweetest little family of 4. From belly to baby. We can’t wait to watch Lucien grow!
Henry was born 8 weeks early and spent those first weeks in the NICU at McMaster. We captured his newborn portraits when he was 11 weeks old. When I met him he had doubled his birth weight! His mama asked if we could capture some special portraits to document his time in the NICU, of course I was more than willing to oblige! Henry has gone from micro-premie diapers to a size 1 in his 11 weeks.
Mama and her boys.
So much love for his little brother.
Henry had sooooo many smiles during his session. For an 11 week old baby, Henry still acted very much like a newborn and was super sleepy. I love when I can capture some open eyed portraits though. Henry had the sides of his head shaved for procedures in the NICU, this kids been through a lot so far in his life. I can’t wait to see Henry again when he is big and strong!
Anthony gave me Baby Fever baaaaaaaad. And no wonder, with gorgeous parents like his, he was bound to be handsome! His Mom won this session during my 12 Days of Giveaways and I am so happy she used it to capture his newborn portraits.
Lily loves her little brother, but she was a little reluctant to join in the portraits – that is unless she was allowed to give him kisses! She’s such a sweetheart I could just lay and cuddle with her all day. When I walked into Laura and Steve’s home I fell in love with their huge barn door (made by Steve!) and I knew I had to incorporate it into Anthony’s portraits – that did not disappoint! If you follow my photography, then you know that this ‘bum up’ pose is my favourite. I do it during all of my newborn sessions, maybe it’s getting old, but parents always love the rolls! Meet the Steelers and Jays newest fan! Dad wanted to incorporate his first baseball glove into Anthony’s portraits, I couldn’t say no.
Cole will be turning one in a few weeks. I was so happy when his Mom contacted me about doing birthday portraits. I love seeing how much they have grown since their newborn portraits and what better first birthday present – something that he will cherish for a lifetime. Cole’s big brother is so patient with him, and with me! Mom brought a “Chip and Dale” outfit for Cole to wear. Isn’t it the cutest thing ever?! We all know this feeling – we really shouldn’t but we’re going to anyways, because really.. who can refuse cake?! Cole wasn’t sure about the taste of the cake, but regardless he kept going back for more!
