William | Niagara Newborn Photographer

On a snowy day in January I drove to Port Colborne to photograph William. When I arrived Mom and Dad had a fire going in the fireplace, it was nice and cozy for little William – and me! Is there anything better than a real wood fire?!! At 6 pounds and 19 inches, you would never know that he was born more than a month early.    That little tuff of hair. Too cute not to capture!  When I saw a bunch of buffalo plaid in the house I knew I had to incorporate it into William’s portraits.  This family is so sweet. I’m happy that Dad agreed to be in a couple portraits. William had some smiles for us too!

River | Niagara Newborn Photographer

Little River was full of smiles and put up quite the fight. But we got the sweetest open eyed portraits of this handsome little man.  I loved taking portraits of River and his big sister. She loves her little brother so much! Bright eyed and adorable.  I am so amused by these portraits. River decided to poop – without a diaper – mid pose. Priceless!

I’m so happy for this beautiful family. I can’t wait to see them again.

Eliza | Niagara Child Photographer

Sigh, when did my little niece become and adult! Talk about 9 going on 19.  One of the benefits of buying all of her clothes is that I get to dress her however I want – which is usually exactly like me. I wish this outfit came in my size. (Who am I kidding. I also have that vest, thanks Old Navy!)  I drive by this field so often and was struck by how beautiful the purple flowers were so I couldn’t help myself!  She gets it from me. #sorrynotsorry I love this carefree laugh.  Geesh!! STOP GROWING UP! At every stage I think it’s the best age ever and then the next stage happens and THAT is the best age ever. Smart, kind, sassy and such an old soul. I just love this kid so much!

Harper | Niagara Newborn Photographer

Little Harper was in the studio a couple weeks ago. Such a teeny little girl with the sweetest features! She was so good to me, I loved this session!
I was so happy that I finally got to use this headband! Who says baby girls can’t be photographed in blue?  Safe in Daddy’s arms.  This family is so sweet!

Everly | Niagara Child Photographer

A late night blog post because I really can not help myself! Everly is 9 months old – and she gets cuter by the day! Her mama got lost trying to find this field – too many times to count – she called me, Everly SCREAMING in the backseat and I thought to myself “oh boy, here we go”. Eventually I went to find her and she followed me to this field. Everly came out of the van with a smile on her face. The shoot started an hour later than it was supposed to, but that meant that the sun was PERFECT. This session could not have worked out any better! Kudos to Tara for not letter her frustration come through and transfer to Everly.  This girls eyes – just stunning!
I never post straight out of camera images. I always adjust the colour and brightness to suit my personal style, but this image was just way too perfect not to share as is.  After a short little drive we ended up here, fit so perfectly with the theme we have going for her first year sessions.  Her mom made this dress because she couldn’t find what she was picturing in a store. SO PERFECT.  I love Everly’s eye squint, her big sister does the same thing when she is really happy!  Ahhh, one more session to go to complete her first year package. But I’m not sure how I can top these. She was so perfect!

Brittany | Niagara Maternity Photographer

These babies are so loved! I’m honoured to have captured these maternity portraits for Brittany and Bill who are expecting TWINS in December after 4 years of IVF. We had so many laughs during their session. Brittany you are GLOWING. Such a beauty – Bill you’re a lucky guy!!  These two are going to be amazing parents! So much love for each other!  Best of luck Brittany! I can’t wait to see these two little ones!

Hunter | Niagara Child Photographer

This little Tom Sawyer just happens to be my nephew. (How lucky am I?!) It was one of those last minute shoots where everything just fell into place. The location, the outfit, the theme – all on the fly. I love photographing my niece and nephews because I get 100% complete creative freedom! This “fishing” scene is something we were talking about back in March and again briefly before this session. So when Hunter asked if he could go fishing we were ALL over that! He had fun and was completely co-operative. WIN WIN!
He loved his suspenders. And somehow never learnt that snapping them on himself hurts, quite entertaining.
This handsome little gaffer. I know I’m his Aunt but I think he’s pretty darn adorable!  As much as I love every other photograph from this session, this one is my favourite. SO HUNTER!  Every year I take a photograph with my niece and nephews in the same pose. It’s great to look back on every year and see how they’ve grown.  I love these three with all of my heart!  My favourite portraits are the natural ones. The one on the right completely represent them at this age.

Joy&Jayde | Niagara Newborn Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing Joy and Jayde. It was so interesting to see their completely different personalities come out – even at only a couple days old! Joy is on the purple and Jayde is on the grey!

Best friends.  Joy

Jayde On my way to the session I came up with the idea for this set up and stopped to pick some wildflowers. I’m so happy with the way it turned out! I love the similarities and the differences that suit each girl perfectly.

Everly | Niagara Child Photographer

Everly was in the studio for her 4 month portraits as part of her Baby’s First Year package. We waited a little longer for these ones because this girl is a little cranky.. I mean, colic. I was so nervous about this session, Everly cries, all. the. time. so I was worried that we wouldn’t get any portraits of her smiling, or even just looking at the camera. BUT SHE DID AMAZING! AND I captured her laughing for the first time EVER. So cool!  I am in LOVE with these photographs. So simple.  SO MUCH HAPPINESS IN ONE PHOTOGRAPH!

EVERLY. COME ON. That squinty, scrunchy pure happiness face. SO ADORABLE.  There is just something about her face in this photograph, so much wonder.  Oh, the many faces of Ev!
When I’m culling through photographs from a session for the first time I never know what I’m going to come across in the next photo – closed eyes, funny faces – sometimes I get a good chuckle out of them. But this photograph of Everly had me snorting. She went from happy to angry in about one second.  I wish I could get this photograph at every 3 month session! Sleeping babies are the best! After a brief nap, Everly was ready for round two! These were the only photographs that Mama wanted to do.

Cole | Niagara Child Photographer

Cole was in the studio for his 4 month portraits a few weeks ago as part of his first year package. He was FULL of smiles, especially when Grandma showed up!
He’s got the cutest little smirk!  What a difference a couple of months makes!
See you in July little guy!
