I am so in love with all of the images from Rob&Michelle’s engagement session! I had to overshare because I couldn’t narrow down my favourites. We had so much fun, I can’t wait for their wedding in 18 days!
During the pre-consultation Michelle said that she liked the golden hour look, and we lucked out with the perfect weather!
I think Michelle & Rob might have had as much fun as me during the session. Engagement sessions are the perfect way to get to know each other and get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day.

Kylie&Jon | Niagara Engagement Photographer
A beautiful couple, the beach, at sunset – the stars aligned! A lot of planning went into this session. From outfit co-ordination to making sure we got the timing right for the sunset and just hoping for a sunny day and a great sunset!
Kylie mentioned during the pre-consultation that she doesn’t like being in front of the camera (she’s a natural though, you’d never know!) and Jon on the other hand was soaking it all up. It’s great when the guy enjoys the session, makes for some great natural shots and creative poses.
While I was waiting for Kylie and Jon to arrive at the location I noticed this perfect little spot. I was hoping that they would be troopers and trek in through the weeds and grass and who knows what, and they were! SO WORTH IT.
Kylie and I know each other from when we were in Girl Guides together, and I remember now why she had the nickname Giggles. We had so many laughs during this session. Mostly laughing through poses that felt awkward but look great. I think they trust me now that they’ve seen their portraits! Am I right Kylie? That is one of the many reasons I love photographing couples before their wedding. It’s a great way to break the ice and build up a trust before the big day!
Bugs, annoying little things, but they sure do look magical when they’re backlit!
Gahhh! These two are the cutest. I can’t even.
Jon requested a photograph of their matching tattoos, how could I say no?? I love them!
Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect sunset – or location. OR COUPLE!
I truly can not wait to photograph their wedding in September.
Amanda&Joel | Niagara Engagement Photographer
I met Amanda and Joel for the first time at their engagement session (since they live out of town) and I have never laughed so much during a session. It’s clear to see that these two are made for each other!
When we arrived at Botanical Gardens it was down pouring. Luckily it stopped and we were able to dodge the rain – during the session at least.. Thanks again for saving me when my car wouldn’t start..in the rain..with full bladders. If it was any other client I had just met, I would never have sent the “Do you have booster cables?” text. But I feel like you two are long lost friends and I can’t wait to photograph your wedding!
Rob&Melissa | Niagara Wedding Photographer
These high school sweethearts are getting married! Rob & Melissa started the session a little uncomfortable in front of the camera, but it made for some super adorable candid shots. It didn’t take them long to become pros – that’s one of the main reasons I include a complimentary engagement session with every wedding package. It gives us a chance to get to know each other before the big day and for the Bride & Groom to get comfortable in front of the camera.
These two are way too sweet.
These two rocked their session!
I can’t wait to celebrate your love in September!
Katelyn&Colin | Niagara Engagement Photographer
After 8 years of dating my good friends Katelyn and Colin are FINALLY engaged! I have been looking forward this session for a while now. I took these two (and Kali of course!) down to the quarry for their portrait session. Photographing friends can sometimes be difficult and that was definitely the case with these two – they didn’t want to be cuddly and romantic in their portraits (how do you capture engagement portraits without that?!) but I enjoyed the challenge!
Their fur baby, Kali, stole a show a few times during their session.
I tricked them into a couple of cutesy-wootsy images though “I’m just going to take a shot of Kali with you guys blurry in the background. Just do whatever back there.” hehehe
During the session these two proposed to me – “Will you be our wedding photographer?” and gave me an adorable camera necklace (which I am wearing right now!). Of course I said YES! and I can’t wait to capture what I know will be a beautiful wedding. The necklace and proposal was such a nice gesture. Sometimes choosing between photographer, guest or bridesmaid can be difficult when your friend is a photographer, I am completely honoured and so happy that I didn’t have to be the one to make that decision!
Love this laughing one!
Katelyn, you are too gorgeous!
Completely unposed moments are my absolute favourite!! This image is 100% “Katelyn and Colin”.
WAY north or over in Manitoba, wherever you two wed, I’ll be there with a smile on my face and a tear in my eye. So happy for you two and your fur babies!
Mike&Jenn | Niagara Engagement & Wedding Photographer
Can I just say that Jenn & Mike ROCKED their engagement session?! I had so much fun photographing these two. They were definitely troopers wading through the tall grass and patiently sitting in it.
One of my favourite images from the session.
It’s clear that Jenn and Mike are so in love, I love this image.
Making small talk, while photographing Jenn’s gorgeous ring, I mentioned that I heard something moving in the woods beside us. I was definitely not expecting Mike’s response to be “It’s a deer”. There wasn’t just one deer, but three, 20 feet from us. So obviously I had to stop and snap a few photographs!
Initially Jenn said “nothing to flowery” when we were discussing a location for the session, but I’m glad she changed her mind because I love spring in Niagara! The blooming trees are gorgeous, they get me every time.
Jenn and I have been friends since high school and I am honoured that they chose me to photograph their wedding. I can’t wait!
Danielle&Dylan|Niagara Engagement Photographer
When you plan a winter portrait session this is exactly what you dream of. Driving to this little nook it was snowing and blowing so bad we almost had to turn back but as soon as we turned down the Firelane the wind stopped and the snow was falling perfectly – you know the snow I’m talking about – the sun even came out long enough to snap a few photographs. Ah, just perfect. A photographers dream.
These two are good friends of mine and I can’t wait to be a part of their September wedding – but this time on the other side of the camera! – such a nice treat being able to put down my camera and truly be present.
I love spontaneous moments like this. One of my favourite images from the session. They’re so great together.
I’m so happy for you two! September can’t come soon enough. xoxox
Dan&Danielle | Niagara Engagement Photographer
Meet Dan and Danielle (Yes, yes, they know! Daniel and Danielle. Ha Ha.) Or as I affectionately like to call them, Dan² (Dan-Squared).
Danielle and Dan met exactly two years before their engagement session. Dan was born in Poland. He speaks Polish and plays the accordion – an instant hit with Danielle’s mom. Not to mention he is caring, funny and cleans up after himself, everything you want in a man. (Plus.. wait until you see the ring!) Danielle could not have found anyone more perfect for her. The more time I spend with them, the more I see how perfect they are for each other.
I normally don’t share this many images, but I just couldn’t help myself.
Dan² started dating around the same time that I start dating Danielle’s brother (where’s my ring?!) I was honoured when they asked me to photograph their wedding and I’m so excited! I’ve gotten to know Dan² over the past few years, but over the last few months I’ve gotten to spend a lot more time with them. We get along really well, mostly because they get my sense of humour. I would be more than happy to one day add these two to my family.
How beautiful are their babies going to be – I can’t wait to become an (almost) Aunt again!
You’ll see these two again when I photograph their October wedding, it’s going to be a fun day! I honestly can not wait to see these two get married!
NEW Engagement & Wedding Website!
Last year I took down the Wedding & Engagement photography from my website, so I could bring the focus to my Newborn and Child photography. After doing so I kept receiving the same question “Do you photograph weddings?” I am still photographing weddings – and I love it! So after much consideration I decided to create a website solely for my Engagement & Wedding photography.
This new website has the familiar, easy to navigate format as my original site, so looking though my portfolio is simple. I have also added my 2014 Pricing PDF to the website. This downloadable PDF has information on my packages, pricing and what to expect.
I’m looking forward to photographing my 2014 couples and I can’t wait meet the great couples that 2015 has in store!

Tara&Seth | Niagara Engagement Photographer
Last Sunday I had the pleasure of photographing Tara and Seth in Stevensville.
These two have been together for three years. From the time I’ve spent with them I can tell that they are great together, and are wonderful parents to their massive furry baby! And although I’m sure Seth loathed me for making him pose in front of the camera, I love the way their portraits turned out.
The photography gods have been on my side lately! It had been cold and rainy all day but it stopped a few minutes before our session – and the sun even came out! While I was driving home it started to rain again, talk about luck!
I’m so glad they decided to bring Cavot along!
I can not wait to photograph their intimate backyard wedding next October.
